This is an excellent unit for the Price. It does most of the chores that the more expensive units do. The only thing missing is a dough hook. It stood up well during this holiday season. The mixer is just right for hand mixing as well as in the stand (which I used extensively).
Description of Hamilton Beach 64586 5-Speed Clean Mix Hand/Stand Mixer
The Hamilton Beach Clean Mix works as either a traditional stand mixer or a hand mixer. The attractive glass mixing bowl sits on a turntable, allowing all the edges of the bowl to be reached by the beaters while mixing. A special Power Boost button helps to get through some of the more stubborn clumps, and the five adjustable speeds are suitable for a wide range of mixing jobs. When the mixer is removed from its base, it can also be used as a hand mixer for smaller jobs or when you need to mix something in a different bowl. The hand mixer has a built-in bowl rest, making it easy to lay the mixer on the side of the bowl instead of having to set it down on the counter as globs of batter rain down from the beaters.
