The blue glow of the circular clock at night has created a really warm, comforting feeling in our kitchen/home. We're not sure just why we find this so comforting to us, but we do.
I especially like the timer controlling how long the coffee is kept warm. (Max is 4 hours--about the life of 10-12 cups of coffee for us anyway.) While most timers on appliances are hard to set, this one couldn't be easier or more straight forward.
This is a stretch version of our old BrewStation, meaning you can get a taller cup into it for dispensing. We do have road mugs that are slender and long enough, however, that we still have to pull the unit to the front of the counter to angle the cup up to it.
Of course, this is one of its best features--this ability to dispense without pouring, spilling, or breaking a glass carafe. But there is versatility as well... The BrewStation's hot coffee housing unit in the top-back is a carafe and has a handle for easy pouring. It is sturdy and unbreakable. We find this carafe helpful when we are entertaining and want to transfer the pot of coffee over to our glass vacuum lined, pump air pots for dispensing to our guests at a beverage station. It is then that we do want this ability to pour.
There are no more paper filters as the gold tone filter/cup can be dumped out in the trash and rinsed out in the sink and used over and over agin. The mesh is super fine, but if you don't want a little dark, Turkish like, residue at the bottom of your coffee, paper filters might be better. We brew it strong in any case.
We purchased the unit through Amazon, and were not entirely happy with what we paid, though it seems to be the only place you can get one of these beside going through the manufacturer. None of the big retail stores carry it. Here is why I am not happy with the price: I put it in our online cart at Amazon one night, and the next morning when I went to order it, it had gone up in price by $5.00. I don't know if that was a coincidence or not, but as a consumer, it didn't feel very good. It did arrive safely and on time.
